PGCPS TO HOST FREE IMMUNIZATION CLINICS SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13
UPPER MARLBORO, MD – Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) is encouraging parents and care providers of students in kindergarten and Grade 7 to be ready and be healthy by ensuring that their child is up-to-date on needed immunizations.
Immunization requirements in the State of Maryland have changed for the 2014-2015 school year for students in kindergarten and Grade 7. For the current school year, all kindergarten students must receive two doses of the chickenpox vaccine, which is also known as the varicella vaccine. All students in Grade 7 are required to receive a single dose of the TDaP (Tetanus, Diphtheria and Pertussis) vaccine and a single dose of the meningococcal (meningitis) vaccine.
All kindergarten and Grade 7 students must receive these immunizations by Tuesday, September 16. Without medical verification of receiving the required vaccinations, unimmunized students will not be permitted to attend school until the required records have been provided.
Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) will host free immunization clinics Saturday, September 13, for all students in need of immunizations. The clinics will be held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at the following locations:
Bladensburg High School

Fairmont Heights High School
1401 Nye Street
Capitol Heights, MD
Northwestern High School
7000 Adelphi Road
Oxon Hill High School
6701 Leyte Drive
