Cheverly Day 2014
Cheverly News and Announcements:

Cheverly Day 2014

This year's Cheverly Day theme is "Cheverly, more than the sum of it's parts".  It's a great theme, and it certainly couldn't be more true.  When I think about why Peg and I have chosen to live in Cheverly for almost thirty years, it always come back to the people.  Not just our close friends, but all the people who make up our community.

Cheverlians are amazing.  They cook meals for friends, build trails through woods, involve the community in political issues, improve our schools, provide sports for our children, provide fun activities for our adults, and so much more.  What makes Cheverly special is our people and the community that they continually build.

This year we honor two special Cheverlians: Pat Nelson and Gabe Horchler.  Many of you probably have never met Gabe and Pat, however they have no doubt made an impact on our community and your life.
-  Pat conceived and created the MId Way that every child enjoys on Cheverly Day, and also creates the most amazing Cheverly Day tee shirts.
- Gabe, with his intrepid group of mulchers has done yeoman's work building the Little Beaverdam Creek trail that so many residents use.  Gabe has engineered steps and bridges, diverted water, and has revolutionized the process of mulching the trail.

Gabe and Pat represent the efforts of so many volunteers here in Cheverly.  So please take a moment on Cheverly Day to thank them for their efforts.

Remember, Cheverly Day is not just for kids.  I ask everyone in town to come down and join the celebration.  Yes, the Mid Way, Laser Tag and Mini Golf appeal to children.  However, the Cheverly Day committee has worked hard to find activities for the 'child in all of us".  There will be Corn Hole, Horseshoes, Foosball, Softball, and what adult doesn't enjoy Mini Golf.

Once again the Cheverly Day Committee has lined up an all-star cast of musicians to entertain us, headlined by Nasar Abadey.

The Cheverly Day Committee also made it easier for everyone to get to Cheverly Day so even if you only want to come for an hour it will be easy to get there.

There will be two Shuttle Buses circulating through to pick up people and bring them home.   Even if you are at the pool, come by and have lunch with some of our fabulous food vendors offering Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Barbecue, Healthy Wraps, Jerk Chicken, Gourmet Jamaican, Smoothies, Ice Cream, Funnel Cakes and more.

Looking forward to seeing you there!
