Metro will perform major track work over this weekend, August 2-4, 2013. The work will begin at 10 p.m. Friday and continue through system closing on Sunday.
BLUE LINE MAJOR TRACK WORK
Free shuttle buses will replace Blue Line trains between the Stadium-Armory and Benning Road stations. No stations will be closed. Blue Line trains will operate every 15 minutes between Franconia-Springfield and Stadium-Armory, as well as Largo Town Center and Benning Road. The last train of the night will depart Largo Town Center 21 minutes earlier than normal, at 2:03 a.m. on Friday/Saturday and at 11:03 p.m. on Sunday.
ORANGE LINE MAJOR TRACK WORK
Free shuttle buses will replace Orange Line trains between the Stadium-Armory and Cheverly Road stations. Deanwood and Minnesota Ave stations will be closed. Orange Line trains will operate every 15 minutes between Vienna and Stadium-Armory, as well as New Carrollton and Cheverly. The last train of the night will depart New Carrollton 50 minutes earlier than normal, at 1:46 a.m. on Friday/Saturday and at 10:46 p.m. on Sunday.
RED LINE SINGLE TRACKING
Trains will single track between Farragut North and Judiciary Square. Throughout the weekend, Red Line trains will operate every 20 minutes between Shady Grove & Glenmont. Additional trains between Shady Grove & Farragut North and between Glenmont & Judiciary Square will run every 10 minutes 9AM-9PM.
Red Line Travel Tips: If connecting between the western side of the Red Line and the Blue/Orange lines, consider trying Farragut Crossing. When using a SmarTrip card, you can transfer for free by walking between Farragut North and Farragut West stations. If connecting between the eastern side of the Red Line and the Green or Yellow lines, consider making the transfer at Fort Totten, rather than Gallery Place. If traveling to Verizon Center from the eastern side of the Red Line, use Judiciary Square rather than Gallery Place.
