Dear Prince George's County Resident:
I am writing to tell you about an important town meeting on Saturday, June 15th to help set priorities for investment in economic development in Prince George’s County. On that morning, from 10:00AM to 1:00 PM the Plan Prince George’s 2035 Town Meeting will take place at the University of Maryland’s Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center.
The central purpose of the meeting is to discuss the need for a “downtown” Prince George’s and get input from residents, organizations and business leaders about the top places that are being considered. Should we concentrate the county's investment resources in Greenbelt, Largo, PG Plaza, College Park, Branch Avenue, New Carrollton or some other place? We need a big crowd of Prince George’s County residents to attend this interactive town meeting where participants will use computers and voting key pads to express their views on this question. The meeting is sponsored by the Prince George’s County Planning Department of The Maryland-National Capitol Parks and Planning Commissions and the recommendations that emerge from it will be submitted to the County Council for action later this year.
I hope you will plan now to attend this important and innovative community meeting. We need input at on what our future economic development priorities should be from people in all parts of Prince George’s County.
